Alkali Audit privacy policy.

Alkali Audit runs entirely in your browser and collects no data. Here is exactly what it does, and does not do.

Last updated: July 2026

Alkali Audit is a browser extension published by Alkali (byalkali.com). This policy explains how the extension handles information. It does not change the Alkali website privacy policy.

The short version

Alkali Audit does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any data. Everything happens locally in your browser.

What the extension does

When you click the Alkali Audit icon, the extension reads the content of the page in your active tab (title, meta tags, headings, images, links, above-the-fold layout, and performance timing) and analyzes it on your device to produce a score and a list of suggested improvements.

What we do not do

  • We do not send the page content, its URL, or your audit results to any server.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or cookies inside the extension.
  • We do not collect personal information.
  • We do not create an account or ask you to sign in.
  • We do not sell or share any data, because we do not collect any.

Permissions

activeTab grants temporary access to the current tab only when you click the icon, so the extension can read that page to audit it.

scripting lets the extension run its read-only analysis function on that page. The function does not modify the page and does not persist after the popup closes.

Third parties

The extension makes no network requests. If you click the “Get your full audit” button, your browser opens byalkali.com in a new tab, at which point the Alkali website privacy policy applies.
