Convivialité Ventures, the venture arm of Pernod Ricard, had a custom site they couldn’t update themselves. Every change had to go through a developer, and the turnaround was measured in weeks. We started with the team and portfolio sections, redesigned both, and rebuilt them so the venture team could make updates themselves. That went well enough that they came back to us for the events section and the rest of the site’s high-touch areas.
Giving Pernod Ricard’s venture team control of their own site.
A portfolio and events rebuild for Convivialité Ventures, the venture arm of Pernod Ricard, designed to let the team update the things that change most without touching code or waiting on anyone.
Convivialité Ventures had a site that worked, but only barely for them. It had been built as a custom WordPress theme, and while the technology behind it was capable of being flexible, the implementation wasn’t. The high-touch areas of the site, the parts that needed to change most often, had been hard-coded. Every update to the team, every new portfolio company, every adjustment to an event required a developer.
The turnaround on those developer changes was measured in weeks. For a venture team trying to keep a public-facing site aligned with a fast-moving portfolio, that pace wasn’t workable. They needed a version of the site they could actually manage.
What we built.
Started with team and portfolio.
We started where the pain was worst: the team page and the portfolio section. We redesigned the portfolio to give it more room to breathe and better structure for browsing, then rebuilt the entire section so every portfolio company could be added, edited, or removed through WordPress rather than through a developer. Same for the team page. The visible design felt polished; the underlying architecture made it manageable.

Came back for events.
After the initial phase shipped and the team had been running it for a while, Convivialité Ventures came back to us for the events section. We designed and built an events page that matched the rest of the site and gave them the same level of self-service control. Upcoming events, past events, details, all editable through the CMS without risking the site in the process.
Extended to the rest of the site.
Over time, we continued identifying the other high-touch areas of the site that were still hard-coded and converting them to CMS-editable fields. What started as a team and portfolio project became a full site pass, leaving Convivialité Ventures with the ability to update anywhere they needed to, instantly, without breaking anything.

The Convivialité Ventures team now updates their team page, portfolio, and events directly through the CMS, instantly, without developer involvement. What used to take weeks takes minutes. New portfolio companies go live the day they’re announced. Team changes don’t wait in a queue. Events update as they’re scheduled. The site finally moves at the pace of the business it represents.
